Founded in 1979 in Morigaon, Assam, Morigaon Mahila Mehfil (MMM) is a registered, community-led non-governmental organisation. For over four decades, we have empowered vulnerable women, children, and families across the Morigaon and Nagaon districts through sustainable, rights-based interventions.

Our Journey

Milestones since 1979

1979

Morigaon Mahila Mehfil founded by a group of dedicated women in Morigaon, Assam.

1980

Registered under the Societies Registration Act, No-126 of 1980-81 (Act XXI of 1860).

1985

FCRA registration obtained — enabling the organisation to receive foreign contributions.

1992

Family Counselling Centre (SEWA) established in Morigaon District.

2012

Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA) launched for orphaned and abandoned children.

2020

Community Mental Health Programme begins across 191 villages with Azim Premji Foundation support.

2022

Flood response reaches 17,600+ households across Morigaon and Nagaon during Assam floods.

2023

Half-Way Home and Real Home established for persons with mental illness in need of shelter.
