Project Goal and Key Objectives:

Goal:

Build community resilience to climate induced disasters, enhance preparedness and reduce risk to people, crops & livestock and environment.

This Project is running in Morigaon Mahila Mehfil with the support of Reliance Foundation from September-2025. The project also aims to promote awareness, build local capacity and networks for well-coordinated & timely response during emergencies.

Key Objectives:

To enhance the capacity of local communities, schools and front-line volunteers to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters in a timely manner by:

Mainstreaming risk reduction through community-led hazard and vulnerability assessments and integration of village disaster management plans with local governments’ development plan.

Assisting farmers and livestock owners through programs that build climate resilient livelihood.

Engaging nature-based solutions as a key and effective means of disaster risk reduction.

Building local capacity through trained cadres to protect crops, livestock and public health in different scenarios, including emergencies.

Preparing schools to identify, own and address their specific risks through targeted interventions.
